COMFORTING UNKNOWN SPECIES

At RAPLAB, ETH Zürich I held a seminar week providing methods of rapid prototyping and creative thinking. I've set the topic "Comforting Unknown Species". The participants created different species, living in sky, earth and underground. The whole world was fit in a frame that covered our office window a couple of months.

We had a day and night lighting set up. The night set used UV-light to activate reactive paint.

For the models we used a variety of materials and techniques.

Silicone form working, Polyurethane pouring, Monster Clay, Super Sculpey, Vermiculite, Acrylic and UV paint, Styrofoam and Airbrushing was used extensively.
