Coming from 3D graphics, electronics and metalworking, sometimes I think about designing objects or solve an interesting problem. I love to tinker and tweak until I find a good design.

This was the first project I made a series out of. The image plate is CNC milled Corian. Photographs are converted to milling paths to be backlit, revealing the photograph. The milling paths are produced using Blender and BlenderCAM. I milled the first prototypes on the Inventables X-Carve mill and then switched to the Multicam 5000 CNC for better quality.

To switch the power of the lamp it has to be turned on its side. There are no visible buttons or switches. The front plate can be turned to either reveal a relief or make the content only visible when turned on.

The next iteration will be made with alabaster stone and wood. The lamp will then react to the touch.
